The Annual Christmas Concert and Toy Drive packed Mango's Bar N Grill with an incredible night of entertainment, as well as raised over 200 toys for Children in Need!

Storehouse CEO and Country Music Artist, Brinn Black presents a $10,000 donation  from the 2018 Lyrics On the Lake Songwriters Festival to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Central and Southwest Virginia on behalf of the Musicpreneur Storehouse.

She is joined by one of the CMN rockstar children who have personally benefited from the efforts of this amazing organization.

We are so proud to be able to put on an event that brings Music to Southwest Virginia and empowers the artists to grow their careers as well as help the local children!

The Musicpreneur Storehouse has been able to help one of Nashville's rising stars who has been battling cancer. 

​

They were in need of transportation to and from treatments, but their vehicle was in desperate need of some repairs. 

Thanks to the generosity of YOUR donations, we were able to repair their vehicle to get them back on the road, and the road to recovery!

Thanks to your donations, the Storehouse was able to buy enough decorations to decorate the hotel rooms of every child who has to spend Christmas in the Roanoke Children's Hospital. We also were able to fill the stockings for their parents and siblings, so the entire family got to enjoy the magic of Christmas together, and hopefully bring a little light to a dark time in their lives.

Brinn Black, Catherine Bakus, and a few special guests packed the house for a special Christmas concert! 

The event raised over 300 toys for children in need to open on Christmas.

The Musicpreneur Storehouse presented a $25,000 check to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals of Central and Southwest Virginia last week at a ceremony at Mango’s Bar and Grill in Moneta.

The donation was from the proceeds of MPS's annual Lyrics on the Lake Songwriters Festival and was made in memory of William Mitchell Wells, the late infant son of Jonathan Wells, a favorite songwriter of Lyrics on the Lake.

​

The donation is scheduled to be used to complete a neonatal intensive care unit at Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg and for a neonatal transport for Carilion Children’s Hospital in Roanoke. The check was presented by Brinn Black, at left holding the check, to Jack Whisler and Sherrie Sirdofsky, representatives of CMN Hospitals, and accompanied by several Lyrics on the Lake volunteers.

MPS's annual fundraising event, Lyrics on the Lake Songwriters Festival, raised $20,000 for the organizations Nashville headquarters. The festival featured more than 50 singers and songwriters during five days of performances and raised over $56,000 total. This was the festivals largest year to date with over 5000 attendees.

The money will be used to provide opportunities to Nashville's emerging artist and new entrepreneurial sectors.

Musicpreneur Storehouse's annual fundraiser, Lyrics on the Lake, capped off it's fourth annual summer concert series and by presenting a check to Children’s Miracle Network for $20,000. The event showcased local talent during an open mic competition and featured more than 50 singers and songwriters during five days of performances.

Lyrics on the Lake Board of Directors and committee chairs joined representatives from Children’s Miracle Network at Mango’s Bar and Grill at Hales Ford Bridge on Oct. 21.

With the help of an amazing team of volunteers and festival attendees , our annual fundraiser, The Lyrics On The Lake Songwriters Festival raised a total of $56,000!

This helps us give a large donation to the local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, as well as pay for the many expenses involved with putting on such a large event, and also helps the Storehouse to keep up its programming by helping Artists and Entrepreneurs in Need.

The storehouse hosted a several week long stuff the truck campaign to support the West Virginia flood victims in July. The organization was able to fill three 18 wheelers with food, clothing, and supplies for the families of WV.

In addition to the stuff the truck campaign, a benefit concert was held on July 16. The event, a wrap-up to the Stuff-the-Truck effort by Lyrics on the Lake and The Musicpreneur Storhouse, raised more than $2,000 in addition to the three tractor trailer loads of goods collected. The concert was held in conjunction with a similar concert in Chesterfield, VA.

The trailers were delivered July 17 to the National Guard Armory in Richwood, West Virginia, the only distribution point for all the community’s daily needs during the disaster. Richwood, a town of about 2,000 people, lost its only grocery store, drugstore and Dollar General store. Donations included 15 tons of dog food, 5,400 rolls of paper towels, 17,280 bottles of water as well as a multitude of bleach, cleaning supplies, non-perishable foods, household items, clothing, blankets, pillows and more.

​

Another recipient of this effort was the Herbert Hoover High School in Clendenin, West Virginia, whose choral program lost everything except four laminated pictures of their choirs. In addition to money, the school received a new drum set, 250 school desks and 250 backpacks filled with school supplies.

​

The concerts, presented by Lyrics on the Lake, featured noted Nashville singer/songwriter Brinn Black. She was joined by North Carolina natives Jonathan Wells and Renn Anderson, who are now also based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Franklin County native Matt Powell was added last minute as a surprise guest. He opened the show, then later joined Black, Wells and Anderson onstage for an impromptu quartet performance. Powell, the son of the late Alan (A.P.) Powell and Jennifer Bennett, has been plying his trade as a singer/songwriter in Austin, Texas for 20 years. In town for a month-long visit, he heard about the benefit concert and offered to add his talents to the effort.

On Friday August 15th, 2014 Nashville booking agent, Matt Rizor, was walking home on West End Ave and was hit by a dark colored sedan driving east without their headlights on and did not stop.

The Storehouse was able to help Matt back to his feet by hosting auctions and a fundraising event.
